New - April 29, 2009
My aching left foot and my hip joints complaining tell me I've had enough. For the first time yesterday evening I went out to nearby La Mirada Park to walk. I started out at around 6:30 and by 7:30, the sun was a huge orange ball being swallowed up by the horizon.

There was still the crisp, cold breeze of spring. The hills and uneven topography of the park help raise my heart beat.

I miss the heat of Sindalan, the warmth of Greenfields and the chatter of my walking buddies, brothers Bong and Jojo Naguit, Doret Tombo, Bong Dungao, Tang Joe Velez and of course Indo. We haven't walked with Engr. Pineda. The petition from his son from New Jersey finally came in last year and he left the Philippines to be with him and his family. Anyone know his phone number on the East Coast so we can get a hold of him?

I think I've mentioned in my previous blog that the virus in my PC contaminated my portable hard drive and my digital camera. Friend Ruston had my PC reformated and I bought a new memory stick for my digicam. I was trying to upload some pictures yesterday and to my disgust, I got a warning that my camera files/pictures are contaminated with the Mabeza virus.
I was talking with Dan about this virus the other night and he mentioned, "I'd be devastated if I get a virus and lose my files in the process." I may have unknowingly been through some level of depression since it happened to me because I seriously lost interest in blogging as you may have noticed. This latest incident on my digital camera is not helping me climb out of this hole. I'll find out within the next day or so if Dan or Eph can help me salvage all or at least some of my pictures in my camera not to mention ALL MY PICTURES in my still contaminated WD hard drive.
We left the Philippines last Sunday April 26 and arrived at LAX 3 pm on the same day. Dan picked us up and we're currently trying to adjust with the time and the weather. Cong Paing and Ate Let are still in the Philippines and they're staying in our house so I'm confident that my lawn will get taken care of. Too bad for Indo, he won't get to walk in the neighborhood again till we go back late May or June.
