Week 15-16 Updates

Donna went with Atching Pie to Angeles Saturday June 17. Pap and I went back to Guagua so I can check eMail and hopefully post a message in my blog. Blogger has been acting up for the last several days. I can go to the screen to write a draft, even post one but it won’t let me view the actual blog let alone post or download pictures.

I told Pap to take a break so I can familiarize myself with driving the Innova. When I was done on line, a little nervous, I left Guagua (at night!) to go to Angeles to pick up Donna. At the Olongapo-Gapan Road, I was planning on taking the Megadike Road short cut to avoid the heavy traffic of San Fernando but it was so dark on the highway that I missed my turn and had to fight with the San Fernando traffic. To make a long story short I made it to Angeles without any mishap whatsoever. Ever since, I’m happy to declare I’ve been having a higher level of confidence everyday I get behind the wheel.

Tuesday the 20th Donna and I were in Guagua when I got a text message from Atlas saying the 40 ft container with our household stuff has left the pier on its way to Pampanga. We had to pick them up from the freeway exit because they were afraid they were going to get lost going to Greenfields. It was around 5 pm when we arrived at the site. I text’d Kong Naring ahead of time not to send the workers home so we’ll have help in unloading the trailer. The driver had to break the lock when we’re ready to unload it. It took the workers about an hour and a half to unload the whole thing. It was really amazing to realize that Donna did all the ordering, buying and packing of all that stuff. There was a s**t load of it!

I set aside my home theater system and took it to Guagua as well as my three guitars. There were several boxes of padala. It took almost all of them to unload the Jacuzzi.

As I’ve mentioned in my previous blog, we’re at the finishing phase of the construction. The ceiling has all been nailed, all that needs to be done is finish it, patch up the holes and varnish it. The outside walls of the house have all been painted with primer. The posts of the front fence have been installed. The sidewalk, driveway, walkway from the front gate to the fence have all been paved. We’re planning on putting up a pond with a fountain in front of the fence.

Indo continues to thrive. He doesn't cry anymore when we leave the site. He's made a friend in Paking, our warehouse guy. He's eating now and he goes to the bathroom in the backyard. We tell him to give him a bath everyday so he won't be so hot all the time. He's developed some mild eye infection but Donna got him some medication and he's gotten much better. Donna and I visited Ace Hardware in SM and got him his brand new park bench since she wasn't able to take his park bench under our guava tree in Norwalk.

I’ll continue posting text blogs but sorry, no pictures. I tried to download a picture but all I see is an x in a box. Try to click on that and see if it'll come up. If you’re interested in seeing all the pictures, give me a note and I’ll include your eMail address in my Yahoo photo invites.
