Week 12 started with some mixed feelings and emotions. Yesterday, Alan got buried. Kong Orling went with me to Masamat. We were a bit late but we caught up with the funeral procession in Sabanilla where I got off the car and walked with those people who wouldn't fit into vehicles. It was a fairly long walk under the hot sun but I figured it was the least I could do to show support to the family. Along with several of my workers, I watched Junior (my chief mason) seal the tomb after the casket was put in. Then I led a short prayer before everyone left on the way back to Masamat. Kong Orling gave his condolences to the family of a lady named Emy who passed away the night before. They were the same age and I guess were friends when he was much younger.
Most of the workers went back to work right after the funeral. Kong Orling and I visited the site real quick, had lunch and went back to Guagua.
After dropping him off, I went to PHS to meet with the principal, Mrs. Macaspac to turn in the funds raised by JASHS Class '70 to raise the roof of one more class room. Ned and Mike met me over there. The main building of the school has been totally renovated, by the way. I guess, after the floor collapsed on one of the class rooms last year, the funds were expedited and finally got released. I have to admit they did a good job at it. The basements have all been filled with dirt. The wood floors of the class rooms have been replaced with concrete and the floors were made to become the ceiling.
Today I went with Ate Pie and Pat to Manila so I can get Indo's permit from the Department of Animal Industry. Pat to the US Embassy for a visa interview. We left at 5:30 am because she had an appointment at 8:30 and she didn't want to miss it. I heard she didn't get interviewed until about 11. After we dropped her off at the Embassy, I got dropped off at the law office of my compadre Atty. Nasty Marcelo in Caloocan. His son Sherwin drove me to Quezon City to get the permit. I was pretty impressed on how quick it took us to get it. After submitting the application (which I've alredy filled out last night) and paying P100, we had some documents stamped and it was over. Pareng Nasty took us to lunch at a nearby Max's Restaurant. After lunch he took care of some 'attorney' stuff at his office then we left for Pampanga at around 3 pm. At the toll gate exit in San Fernando, we dropped by the Toyota dealer to check out the Innova Donna and I had our eyes on. Pareng Nasty was thinking of getting one of them Toyota passenger vans called the Hi Ace Grandia but they didn't have one available in the lot. Afterwards we proceeded to check out the construction site. I gave them a quick tour of the new house then they dropped me off in Guagua. We had dinner at Luring's on the way.
Most of the roof has already been installed. When we got there today, the concrete for the music room floor has already been poured. The only flooring left to be done would be the living room, the hallway and the bathrooms.
