Updates July 4th

Posting on my Blog has been too seldom and far in between so I'm losing track of dates and stuff. I owe a lot of write ups but here's a little bit. Promise, I'll post more later.

New things to report on the construction:
The proposed fountain/pond in front of the porch;
The proposed waterfalls/pond by the front fence;
The concrete enclosure for the Jet Matic (water supply) and generator;

Our painters have also started the first coating of the colored paint on the outside walls of the house and they’ve started putting on the primer for one of the master’s bedrooms. The masons have started to install the tiles for the bathrooms. And they’ve started the finishing work for the ceiling of one of the master’s bedrooms.

They delivered the cornices for our ceiling and they showed us how to install a couple of pieces. We’ve been looking for doors for the next few days and I think we’ve found a source who charges the least. We may also put in the order for the fence within the next day or so. Once it’s installed, Indo would be free to run around the house without being leashed most of the time.

Donna and I have discovered a new diet defying refreshment at the SM Malls in San Fernando and Clark. It’s buko and fruit. It’s served in a freshly cut shell of young coconut, they scrape the coconut and mix it with ice shaving and different flavor of goodies. There goes our South Beach!

A couple of nights ago, Ed sent me a text message announcing a major concert by Mon David at the Greenbelt in Makati on July 8. This was followed by a text message from Ann and Mon himself saying the same thing. And then Myrna text’d me saying Imelda and Dan arrived from the States and they’re inviting for dinner for their Fiesta at their place in Apalit on Friday the 30th. So I sent text messages to all JASHS Class ’70 members whose cell number I have saved in my cell. Mike confirmed as well as Nelia. Alan is a definite maybe while Ned, Loi, and Emil can’t make it for one reason or another. Imelda Maniago called me today. Nelia gave her my cell and she said she might make it. Donna and Elena bumped into each other in SM last night and she’s a ‘maybe’ also. Incidentally Ate Pie took us with them to one of their friends’ house in Apalit for dinner for their Fiesta. Traffic was horrendous! I think this is why Imelda and Dan didn’t want us to go till Friday.
