Foot Dragging to the Max
The middle picture is the wall of the rear of
the house with the two bottom big holes
being the master bedrooms' sliding doors and
the two top holes, the windows of the 2
bathrooms.
The 2nd to the bottom picture shows the front
porch. The hole on the wall on the top section
is the front entry door and the hole in the ground
(foreground) is the right porch column.
The bottom picture shows my plumbing team
working on drilling the permanent water system
by the rear section of the property.
First of all, sorry for dragging my feet on this post and 2nd of all, pardon my inability to put text on my pictures. I'll need someone to show me how to properly do it.
As you can see in the three pictures above, there's been considerable progress in our construction. Next week, we should be able to see some beams installed for the doors and windows and by the weekend of next week, I was told the beams for the trusses could be up. Today however wasn't such a good day since we only had 4 or 5 workers come in spread the fill dirt. It was raining so Kong Naring decided not to have most of the workers come in.
I took advantage of the situation by getting a hold of Mike to accompany me at the LTO so I can get my driver's license. We went there a few minutes before 12 noon hoping his contact would still be there. Unfortunately she's off for the entire day but she had another lady there wait to help us out. She told us the necessary documents and requirements and to come back after lunch once we have everything. We dropped off some payables at the site for Kong Naring, had lunch and went back to LTO. This is the one located by the provincial capitol, by the way, not the small branch they have in SM. After processing our papers, she told us to go downstairs across the street so I can go through some drug testing and medical exams. Let me tell you about this procedure: I had my cup (it's actually a little plastic bottle) filled, then the guy took my picture (it was a web camera!), I paid P250, then he told me to go and get 'medical' about 100 ft away. There was another guy waiting, he noticed my California driver's license was about to expire and commented it wouldn't have been any good if it was, asked me a couple of questions, "Do you take medications, drugs" blah, blah.. I paid P50 and then we went back upstairs to LTO. The lady told me to go to window 3 (more picture taking with a web cam), window 7 (cashier P289) then to window 9 for the final picture, a digital camera this time. And this is where the process bogged down considerably. I didn't get my license till 5:30 pm. I was third to the last, after they fixed it because my name was spelled MANIGO. Check out the corrected copy in the picture above. By the way, the puppy is the construction mascot. They're hoping it'll be much bigger by the time the house is finished. Not sure if he'll be Indo's playmate or if our warehouse man will take him back to Masamat.
