California/Europe Schedule

We've been getting a lot of inquiries on our schedule here in California so here goes:

We'll be here through late June. Donna has a nursing class reunion to attend to on June 28 in Chicago. On July 2 we're tentatively scheduled to go to Spain to join Robert and Mary in their home in Rota. We're currently having our travel agent get a booking for us. We'll stay there through October (and run around the neighboring sightseeing spots), then back to California for Eph's wedding.

So there, if you still have questions, you can either eMail me at reyjay1@hotmail.com or give us a call here at Emy's. Like I said before my cell is on roaming so you can call me or send me text messages and I will get them but will probably reply to you by eMail.

Chilly So. Cal.

For the second morning in a row I’ve been walking around the park and the general neighborhood around here in La Mirada. This morning Kong Paing called and said he wanted to walk so I said fine. Yesterday Kong Mansing was with us. After each walk we head on down to a nearby IHOP for breakfast. I have my usual chicken fajita omelette and my brothers have pancakes or something or other. I miss these walks with my brothers.

Although I miss our walks around Greenfields as well with our new found buddies over there. Donna chose not to walk with us, yesterday she was still in bed when they came and today, she was painting the house.

We’ve already made several phone calls to friends and relatives announcing our arrival along with my usual eMails and chats on Yahoo IM. Donna and I will probably drop by our former respective work this week sometime.

Last night we were going to go to Pechanga to get a tax declaration statement but on the way there was an accident on the 91 Freeway and it would have taken us too long to get there so we decided to turn around and do it some other time. We borrowed the Avalon from Dan the other day and we went to our former parish church in Norwalk to get our 2006 tax declaration statement from them. Before dropping by to visit Kong Paing we had lunch at our former favorite Sushi Samurai in Cerritos. Susan, the daytime waitress, was glad to see us back. Daniel had to pick up the Avalon last night. He has a job interview in Irvine this afternoon.

Emy hosted dinner the other night. Dan and Romar came and helped us down some baked salmon, roast beef and some veggies. Last night it was halibut filet and breaded shrimp. We’re living the good life here in La Mirada. I think we’ll have them officially adopt us!

We’ll attempt to go to Pechanga again today and hopefully we’ll make it this time.

Hello California

Brrr!! I'm not so used to this cold weather anymore!!

Seriously, I do miss the spring weather of LA!

Eph and Dan picked us up in Nido's Previa yesterday at LAX. We got in at around 1:30 pm. Our flight from Manila to Taipei got delayed a little bit but other than that it was pretty smooth all the way. Perhaps I didn't notice because I was asleep almost all the way through waking up only during meals!

Len was able to hook me up through Globe's roaming feature in my cell and by the time we got to Taipei I have a signal through Chungwa Communications and Cingular took over once we touched down at LAX.

Dan drove us straight to Emy and Nido's house in La Mirada. It's newly renovated and it turned out really nice. There's still a little more painting to do. Donna promised to help out. When we were in Norwalk she found out that house painting was her profession in some past life. Eph and Rach treated us to a Japanese restaurant on Norwalk and 166th in Cerritos. It's actually pretty good and affordable with all the specials they offer.

We went back to La Mirada after dinner and Donna gave Rach the goodies that her relatives in the Phil sent for them. I sent an eMail to everyone announcing our arrival then went to bed around midnight and we only woke up once early this morning to go to the bathroom. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do it but the cold weather lulled us back to sleep. Nice! Practically no jet lag. Cool.

Donna just called me so we can have our first breakfast here in California. Talk to y'all later.
