I'm On A Roll!

There was a day when I was having a hard time waking Donna up for our morning walk and I dialed her cell phone by mistake and it was enough to wake her up. But nowadays she charges and plugs it in the night before into a wall outlet outside our bedroom. So much for that ploy..

But I discovered an even better way of waking her up. Once I get, "Hmm, I'll pass.." from her in the morning, I turn off the AC. That's a sure way to get her to get up because for her to turn it back on, she has to get off the bed. The AC remote control is located by the door.

Anyway, after our walk yesterday morning we had a quick breakfast and headed to Good Shepherd Memorial Park to do one final clean up on the graves of my parents. We went a couple of weeks ago and scraped the accumulated candle wax on the headstones but we decided we'll go back to clean out the stains and maybe cut the grass some more. When we arrived, there were all kinds of people doing the same thing. But there were also vendors selling bottled water, coconut juice and the like. There were also a lot of people offering to clean up graveyards and little kids asking if we wanted the gravestones 'lettered'. What they do is go through the letters with gold paint and make them looking new that way. Someone got there ahead of us, not sure who, and had that done already. It was a bit cloudy when we left the house but when we got there the sun started shining nice and bright. That was around past nine so it was pretty hot. We took Indo with us, by the way. I was able to cut the grass some more while Donna took Indo looking for the graves of her Aunties. And of course she never found them.

When we went back home the clouds came back. Donna was stressing on the Innova seat covers being dirty so she started taking them off. I washed them and hung them up on the clothes line in our backyard. They're almost dry when it started to rain so I had to take them all back into the house. This morning, after our walk we put them back on, something we found out was much harder to do. It took her about 20 minutes to take them off but we (mostly me!) spent almost three hours putting them back on! Allan and Neneng were here today visiting and they said they ended up not putting theirs back on their Crosswind because it was just too difficult to do!

My father-in-law spent the night because today is Fiestang Apu in Angeles City and he went to church which he does every year for his panata. Not sure how to translate this into English.
Leda and and her family are coming tonight for All Saint's Day tomorrow.

I've invited my newly found Holy Angel buddies for another get-together on the 6th before we leave for California. So far Let Lagman has responded but I have to follow up on Edgar Caladiao because he has already established contact with a couple more, Chito Castro and Nestor Arcilla.

A few weeks ago friend Remy (she's an employee and friend of my niece Jack) went to Dubai to visit her sister and to accompany her Mom and nephew back to the Philippines. She got me a box of chocolates, WooHoo!! Thanks Budingski!

Here she is with me and Jack during one of our Videoke sessions at Spencer's in Balibago, Angeles City.

I forgot to mention about me and Donna watching Eagle Eye the other day. It was a pretty good movie. However, we've resigned ourselves to the fact that movie audience here will talk during the movie. At least Donna didn't get into a fight this time. A while back we wanted to watch Body of Lies but we thought it got shown and we missed it. But a couple of days ago, we saw the SM sign saying it's only now being shown. We'll probably try and watch it next week before we go.

Have I already told you my daughter-in-law Rachel is having a baby? Well, if you haven't heard, here's proof of another Maniago coming soon!

I have a week to finish my blog updates but I'm confident because...
I'm on a roll!
